A preposition is a word that shows the relation of a noun or pronoun.


It is easy to guess prepositions in a sentence but in the MCQS paper, we are a little confused to see all matches in one sentence.


Here are some hints to use a proper prepositions in a sentence that is helpful for the aspirants who confused in prepositions.


Difference between IN and AT


When we dont know the actual position of an object, we use AT in a sentence
For example: Farhan is at school.


When we know about the actual position of a person or object, we use IN in a sentence.
For example: Farhan is in class five.

Difference between ALONG and ACROSS


Person or object moving to any direction we use ALONG
For example: Ali moves along the road.


When crossing the road, one side to another side, we use ACROSS
For example: Ali looked righ and left and move across the road.


Difference between TO and TOWARDS


To is used to go  in one direction
For example: I am going to Karachi.

While towards is used, when we change our direction.
For example: After going to Post office i turned towards my home.
